Simple Coconut Milk Recipe
A couple of years ago I learned about all of the preservatives in alternative milk options like almond and coconut milk. I was surprised at how little almonds or coconut is actually in carton based milks you can buy at the store.
Instead, I use this simple Coconut Milk recipe to make my own coconut milk at home. I use it for smoothies, soups, oatmeal, cereal, lattes, and lots more!
The ingredients are simple and it’s so easy to make. We makes this 1-2 times a week and it lasts for several days. We use coconut milk for just about everything so we go through it pretty quickly. Coconut milk keeps will for about 5-6 days in refrigerator.
INGREDIENTS
1 13.5oz Can of 100% Coconut Milk (I use Goya Coconut Milk or Trader Joes Organic Coconut Milk)
26-30 oz Water
2 TBSP Maple Syrup
2 TBSP Vanilla
1 Pinch Sea Salt
1 Pinch Cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Pour canned Coconut Milk into blender
Add all other ingredients
Blend until smooth
Pour into a tall glass jar to store in refridgerator
Enjoy in your favorite smoothie or with your favorite cookie!
